The wedding took place on a private polo field,
an open canvas for us to set the perfect stage for our couple’s big day. The horizon was a breathtaking panorama of the crashing Pacific waves at the stunning Klentner Ranch, located in Santa Barbara California.
Our design goal was to create an atmosphere that was warm and inviting. We decided on a beautiful sail-cloth tent, which was not only practical, keeping the coastal winds at bay, but also elegantly emphasized the outdoor experience. Lovely beaded chandeliers hung from the ceiling surrounded by draped vines in our 200-guest tent.Â
The table arrangements complemented the garden theme seamlessly. Potted plants interspersed with romantic candles gave the tables a fresh and lively feel. Taking inspiration from a secret garden, these potted centerpieces were a nod to the lush nature that surrounded us.Â
When it came to the food, we designed fresh food stations.
The guests indulged in a plethora of choices, each station offering delicacies that satisfied every palate. These set-ups allowed guests to engage with the experience, adding an interactive component to the reception.
Speaking of interaction, the entrance to the big tent was a fun one. As guests arrived, they were directed to pick up their escort cards. But these were no ordinary escort cards! Crafted by the ingenious stationary designer, Look Good On Paper, the names were inscribed on mini paper records, each featuring watercolor artwork from the couple’s favorite bands. This unique escort card wall became a focal point of the wedding, a stunning mix of art and nostalgia that amplified the couple’s love for music.Â
The reception transitioned smoothly into a dance party, filled with laughter echoing under the majestic tent. The spirit of The Beatles continued to envelop the night, as the couple’s favorite songs played into the early hours, under the starlit sky of Santa Barbara.Â
With 200 guests journeying from places as far as Romania, this celebration was steeped in international flavors and lots of love. Alex and Kevin were the perfect hosts.Â
Looking back on Alex and Kevin’s wedding day, I would say it was a celebration that truly embodied their personality – warm, lively, and unique in its own beautiful way. This couple and their wedding was a testament to how love and meticulous planning could create an unforgettable experience. It was a privilege to turn their dreams into realities, to help them say ‘I do’ in this setting.Â
